The new Crimson cable from Chord is a high performance interconnect at an extremely competitive price.
When configured with RCA plugs, the Crimson is a true balanced design and like the Cobra 3 and the indigo, uses a full floating shield.
The Crimson design reduces interference and mechanical noise, has a wider band width and this makes the cable ideal for use as a cost effective interconnect for SACD and DVD audio.
The Chord Crimson is constucted around two sets of multi stranded oxygen free conductors in a twisted pair confuguration. The conductors are insulated with low density polyethylene and each conductor is surrounded by a lapped oxygen free copper shield. Both the shields and conductors use the same guage of copper conductor.
The RCA plugs have been upgraded to the proven design used on the Cobra 3.
